Augusta Christian Schools Our Future As we embark upon the next phase in the life of Augusta Christian Schools we are uniquely positioned to advance our community to heights not seen in our 61year history As such it is incumbent that our long range plans reflect a dedication to defining and maintaining what it means to be Augusta Christian Schools The following represents a summary of a more comprehensive long range plan for Augusta Christian Schools We Are Affordable Christian Education We will continue to offer a quality Christian education at a competitive value relative to local private institutions Accreditation Compliant We will continue the process of maintaining accredited status as a means of proclaiming our commitment to doing things well The accreditation program of ACSI is designed to assist member schools in achieving a standard of excellence and to encourage them in a continuous process of assessment and ongoing development To desire excellence is to take seriously our commitment to Christ whose name is excellent Psalm 8 1 Academically Challenging Our academic offerings will continue to reflect a commitment to academic rigor in an environment that contributes to the formation of the whole student Additionally we will offer courses that will help to prepare our students by instilling high standards spiritually academically socially and physically in keeping with our Mission Statement Artistically Celebrated We will encourage our interested students to participate and excel in the arts The performing arts have long played a vital role in the development of leadership discipline character confidence and creativity when administered and taught appropriately The ultimate goal of our performing arts program will be to develop kingdom leaders in keeping with our mission while encouraging our students to perform at the highest level Athletically Competitive We will encourage our interested students to participate and excel in interscholastic athletics Interscholastic sports have long played a vital role in the development of leadership discipline sportsmanship and good citizenship when administered and coached effectively The ultimate goal of our athletics program will be to develop kingdom leaders in keeping with our mission while encouraging our student athletes to compete at the highest level Augmenting Capacity We will pursue construction of new facilities and renovation of existing facilities where appropriate and cost effective to facilitate an environment conducive to the highest possible academic artistic and athletic performance of our student body New construction and renovation of current facilities will emphasize the safety of our students and will pursue integration of new technology to further the mission of Augusta Christian Schools 2 8 12 Year Outlook

Augusta Christian Schools Our E D G E Augusta Christian Schools is quickly becoming the preferred destination for families seeking a challenging private school education in an environment conducive to spiritual social and extracurricular growth As such it should be our priority to maintain our E D G E as the leading private school entity in the Central Savannah River Area E D G E referrs to Augusta Christian Schools Educational Developmental Growth and Economic long range plans for the future As the preferred destination for families committed to a private Christian school education we must establish our commitment to maintaining an appropriately sized student body consistent with the infrastructure required to effectively serve it Statement of Enrollment Goals for the School The considered optimum student population breakeven point is considered to be 700 students This number takes into account the rapidly expanding cyber community currently driving the growth of the Central Savannah River Area and the anticipated increase in demand for Christian private school education for many of the new families to the area The first goal is to maintain the current student level between 675 700 students and to develop a marketing plan to draw more students at an absolute maximum of 900 students 4 8 12 Year Outlook ACTION PLAN Facilitate the development of a marketing plan Standardize the admissions process for Eligibility criteria Shadowing Application for admissions Financial education relative to available alternative funding opportunities Administrator Interview Additional requirements as deemed necessary by administration to uphold the spiritual academic and safety goals of the Augusta Christian Schools

Long Range Plan Summary Maintaining our Leading E D G E E D Educational Plan As the leader in Christian and private school education in the CSRA it is incumbent upon ACS to be proactive in sustaining its leading edge academically in terms of spiritual formation academic rigor extracurricular opportunities and collaborative support To that end we will Encourage and foster students individual growth in relationship with Christ their church and service to others extracurricular programs athletic and non athletic that allows students to explore their interests talents outside the classroom Take steps to achieve higher levels of academic excellence and nurture students to become confident self directed lifelong learners Take steps to achieve a culture of excellence in all Nurture students involvement with the community and the community involvement with ACS to provide a collaborative support system extending beyond the classroom Developmental Plan for Facilities Augusta Christian Schools is committed to creating a learning environment that affords students the optimal environment for education and spiritual formation As such Augusta Christian is committed to providing the necessary facilities to facilitate the long term vision of Augusta Christian Schools as the preeminent private school entity in the Greater CSRA To this end we will Erect new academic buildings at the Baston Road Campus for additional classroom space This is an immediate need with the desire being to eliminate approximately 15 000 sq ft of aging portable classroom space Enhance current campus safety and security implements to include upgrades to existing video surveillance system magnetic locks and limited strategic entry points to the campus Implement fa ade improvements to unify the multiple buildings into a definitive ACS look renovate existing gym upgrade stadium including stands track concessions restrooms turf and lighting Address improvements Prioritize the following to Fury s Ferry Campus as needs after adequate deemed necessary by the additional classroom space administration has been achieved create a new multipurpose facility auxiliary gym cafeteria chapel The Board of Trustees in consultation with the faculty and administration of Augusta Christian Schools has determined it most appropriate for the long term vision and strategic plan for ACS to maintain the Fury s Ferry property as currently utilized to serve as the preschool campus The current tenant space will continue to be leased to defray the cost of servicing the note on the property Upon accomplishment of long range goals for facilities development this property can be sold or repurposed as needed www AugustaChristian org 5

Long Range Plan Summary E Economic Plan for Long Range Sustainability At Augusta Christian Schools the Board of Trustees and Administrative leadership understand that the management of the school s finances requires a balance of important considerations The school must be able to compete for the very best faculty and staff the value of tuition must be acknowledged as commensurate with the value delivered the campus and facilities maintenance and improvements must be made and monitored in a constant consistent fashion and the school must maintain long term financial stability Strategically the Board of Trustees and Administrative leadership will monitor and balance expenditures carefully ensure that the campuses and facilities enhance and support education and the student experience and significantly strengthen and sustain increased philanthropic support by individuals who embrace our rich ACS culture history mission and vision for the future To meet the fiduciary responsibilities of financial oversight and stewardship we will seek to Ensure financial sustainability by procuring the necessary resources and allocating them appropriately Establish annual budgets and annual budget processes that result in positive net income for Augusta Christian Schools as well as annual positive net cash flow and begin to build an appropriate capital fund for the current and future enhancements of our strategic planning Work economically and biblically towards a debt free institution As an example AC recently paid off the bank note of the AC Athletic Fieldhouse The Board is also reallocating dollars to pay off the Fury s Ferry Campus on a shorter timetable Produce one year three year and five year capital expenditure budgets in conjunction with the annual operating budget School Community Address the need for assertive fundraising endowments alumni relations planned giving and overall expansion of the donor base Develop a comprehensive financial strategy to support our strategic infrastructure of current and new facilities Develop a competitive market rate pay scale and compensation package in alignment with the SCISA Private HIGHEST standards www AugustaChristian org 7

Augusta Christian Schools Assembling Community At Augusta Christian we believe in the importance of service to the community for building both character and a sense of responsibility We see it as a crucial element to a child s education Our desire is to develop strong partnerships with some of our community s most dynamic non profit organizations Through these partnerships our students can engage in meaningful service work that will familiarize them with the cause the organization works to address can have meaningful opportunities to act on behalf of others and finally can have a chance to reflect on the impact their service made as well as the impact made upon them We further recognize that the best service work is mutually beneficial so our partnerships should be selected on the basis that both our partners and our students will be served from our work together We want our all students to understand that needs exist both a few blocks and half a world away We want our students to engage with those working in service organizations as well as with those receiving services so that they learn the skills and gain the confidence needed to be vital participants with those taking on our area s nation s and world s greatest challenges Community Involvement Excellence Objective Take steps to nurture student involvement with the community and community involvement with ACS to provide a collaborative support system beyond the classroom 12 8 12 Year Outlook

Augusta Christian Schools Development Plan for Facilities Kindergarten Campus Fury s Ferry Road The Kindergarten campus main building is 27 000 square feet The facility has an office suite fullservice kitchen dining room auditorium and classrooms K3 K4 and K5 are currently located on this campus and utilize nine classrooms The office kitchen dining and auditorium spaces are currently leased to Genesis Church where they have their offices and worship services The school and the church share the auditorium space with the school utilizing it for functions as needed For the 2019 20 school 70 students are currently enrolled on this campus The little gym is also located on the Fury s Ferry property and is 3600 square feet This gym is mostly utilized as a practice facility for cheerleading and wrestling Main Campus Baston Road The Main Campus is comprised of the elementary school middle school high school business office administration athletic facilities and other support buildings The elementary school wing is 12 500 square feet with one portable that is 1500 square feet in area There is a total of thirteen classrooms and an enrollment of 170 students The middle school currently operates out of portable classrooms with a total of 9 000 square feet There is a total of nine classrooms and an enrollment of 135 students The high school wing is 14 500 square feet and portables that total 6000 square feet There is a total of seventeen classrooms with an enrollment of 256 students The Administration Wing middle building is 12 500 square feet This building houses classrooms Head of Schools Suite Middle School Administration Elementary School Library and the MS HS Library 14 8 12 Year Outlook

Long Range Plan Summary Currently spread over two campuses Augusta Christian Schools serves children from Pre K through twelfth grade The main campus located at 313 Batson Road includes the elementary middle and high schools The Fury s Ferry campus hosts the PreK and Kindergarten classes Evaluation of existing facilities their condition and current use is a key element as we plan for the future of the school The Fine Arts Building is approximately 6 300 square feet and houses classrooms for band music and art The main gymnasium is 19 500 square feet In addition to the main basketball court the building houses a Health Science Classroom and locker rooms for both basketball and PE It also contains the kitchen for the campus and the gym also serves as the dining room In addition to the gym other athletic facilities on campus are the football soccer field baseball field and field house Long Range Facilities Plan In planning for the long term we desire to establish all facilities on the main campus at Batson Road Once adequate space is achieved on the main campus the property on Fury s Ferry Road could be sold or repurposed based upon future needs Our desire is to establish new academic buildings at the Baston Road Campus for additional classroom space This is an immediate need with the desire being to eliminate all aging portables including the middle school 9000 sq ft and swamp 6000 sq ft Once adequate additional classroom space has been achieved the next steps would be to create a new multipurpose facility auxiliary gym cafeteria chapel renovate the existing gym and enhance and upgrade stadium including stands track concessions restrooms turf and lighting During all phases of campus improvement we would implement fa ade improvements to unify the multiple buildings into a definitive ACS look and enhance campus safety and security with additional video surveillance cameras magnetic locks and limited strategic entry points to the campus www AugustaChristian org 15

Augusta Christian Schools In order to meet the needs and desires for Augusta Christian schools we feel the following facilities are needed to enhance and sustain the school Administration and Classroom Building The Administration and Classroom building would be centrally located and would serve as the new front door to ACS consolidate administration and provide enhanced security as the singleentry point for both the elementary and middle schools The building would be located between the current elementary administration classroom wings and the gymnasium The facility would be a two story structure with a new elementary media center elementary administration middle school administration and Head of Schools office on the first floor The second floor would be classroom space By relocating the administration teams to this area their current spaces can be renovated and repurposed as classroom space This new building sets the standard for future buildings on campus and simultaneous facade improvements can take place This building could be up to 18 500 square feet Classroom Building end of Elementary Wing A new facility at the left Phillips Drive end of the elementary wing would provide an additional 16 classrooms media center and administration suite The structure would be single story and could be up to 22 000 square feet This new building along with renovations to the existing elementary wing would serve the PreK through Fifth Grade classrooms Multipurpose Building Auxiliary gym cafeteria chapel With additional classroom space gained by the classroom building s the existing middle school village would be removed In the same approximate area a new 20 000 25 000 square foot Multipurpose facility would be constructed to provide a new cafeteria kitchen and multipurpose gym chapel area Concurrently the existing gymnasium would be renovated to update the bleachers HVAC lighting to repurpose the kitchen space and to improve the locker rooms 16 8 12 Year Outlook

Augusta Christian Schools Growth Plan for Development Augusta Christian will remain committed to maintaining the highest standards associated with continued accreditation with ACSI AdvanceEd and other accrediting bodies as deemed appropriate by the Head of Schools ACS administration and Board of Trustees In addition we believe our association with the South Carolina Independent Schools Association to be a mutually beneficial arrangement providing academic and extracurricular support to our programs at ACS We are likewise committed to maintaining our association with SCISA and utilizing its available resources to support the continued growth of our students faculty staff and administration We believe Augusta Christian Schools to have the finest in leadership amongst private and Christian schools anywhere However we are will not rest on our laurels of leadership In an effort to improve upon the existing momentum spiritual academic extracurricular and student body growth at ACS we believe that our leadership at every level should seek personal and professional growth opportunities to better facilitate learning for our students To this end 18 8 12 Year Outlook
